Today Megan’s Organic Market (MOM) is celebrating a special milestone—our birthday!
As MOM turns another year wiser, I want to reflect on how far we’ve come and celebrate your contributions to our meaningful journey.
What started as humble beginnings in organic farming has blossomed into wholesome cannabis markets. While our business model has evolved, our mission has remained the same—
To create a world where cannabis is destigmatized and embraced, by providing access to high-quality products in an approachable, wholesome environment.
You may not know that MOM started as a delivery service when my husband Eric and I saw a need to better serve medical patients with verifiably organic medicine. After funding our first medium-scale grow in Cayucos, CA, we began delivering our sustainably-grown harvest to a small collective of local medical patients.
I’ll never forget hand-delivering cannabis to people’s homes dressed in my handmade apron and carrying the products in a picnic basket. I’d spend hours sitting with them, learning about their needs, educating and guiding them on the benefits of cannabis, and building intimate connections with individuals suffering from insomnia to loneliness to cancer.
I’ve always had a passion for helping people and making them happy. Seeing first-hand the positive impact of MOM’s delivery service, we continued working hard to improve the health of residents and quickly became one of the most respected Prop. 215 cannabis collectives in California. Increased demand and our respected reputation led to winning first place in the City of San Luis Obispo’s cannabis storefront retail permit process.
Since our San Luis Obispo store opening in August 2020, we have successfully grown the company to four cannabis storefronts (and counting). Through our commitment to doing good in the communities MOM operates, we’ve dedicated thousands of volunteer hours and donated hundreds of thousands of dollars along the way to support causes that improve the world around us.
This memorable journey and meaningful growth could not have been achieved alone. From our compassionate team members, high-quality vendors, and knowledgeable partners to our loyal customers—I want to personally thank you.
